Wat Muang
Suphanburi, Thailand November 29, 2009 Wat Muang is located outside of Suphanburi. Thailand’s largest sitting Buddha is located there. The Buddah stands 97 meters tall. For all the Americans out there that is about 318 feet.

Ribbons of Red
Akha Village, Northern Thailand Fall 2006 This picture was taken at almost the same time as the “Immolation” picture. These were the three wise men from the village. The red scarfs on their heads represent their importance in the village. These were the men that I ate the pig that we sacrificed for the ceremony.

Loy Krathong
Chiang Mai, Thailand. November 2006. Loy Krathong is an annual festival held every November in Thailand. To celebrate, small floats, or krathongs, are let onto the river and other floats are released into the air. Fireworks are lit throughout the night. In this picture, one of my friends lit a firework right under her feet.
