Classroom or Cell?

Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
December 2006.
After two gorgeous weeks on an island I decided it would be smart to head over to Cambodia. It wasn’t until I crossed the border when I started to read about the Khmer Rouge and the suffering the people of Cambodia went through. This picture is from the S-21 prison camp. Pol Pot and his cronies turned a high school into the biggest concentration camp. It was here where thousands of Cambodians went through and never came out. The genocide is often compared to the Holocaust.

I think this is my favorite one, it looks like it should be on the cover of national geographic or something. I did a project on the pol pot genocide a couple months ago and its a shame not many people even know about it and it was only in like the 70’s! But its a really good photograph!
